The husband and I got up at 7:30 and were at my mom’s gym by 8:30. I had half a banana and some almonds before we left:
There was supposed to be a team of 5 of us going together to workout, but my sister, his brother and my mom all ducked out at the last minute!! Again, I’m so thankful my husband likes to exercise so I had some company!
My mom’s gym is like a big hotel gym – many of the machines are outdated but it has enough to get sweaty. I did an older elliptical and noticed that my heart rate was much lower than on our gym’s newer machines. On this one I just couldn’t get into a good rhythm with the high resistance but the lower resistance was too easy! Nevertheless, I burned 450 calories in over an hour and also got some upper body weight lifting in. Tomorrow morning we’ll be running again before our Christmas Brunch!
The husband made breakfast for everyone - eggs, toast and coffee! I had a little real butter and some homemade applesauce on my toast and also finished my banana from earlier.
We’re headed to the mall now to meet my friend for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Since I finished breakfast at 10:15, lunch is right around the corner. I’m hoping to get a delicious salad – I don’t really need a heavy pizza meal today. But we’ll see! We’re having an early dinner tonight (at 5:30) and a Christmas Eve Party, so I might need a small snack between lunch and dinner. I’m also hoping we can all go on another group walk this afternoon. Since mom and sister skipped the gym, I bet they’ll be agreeable to go!
