This afternoon went by so fast. It’s so nice to have a food focus at this event. Makes the coverage all the more fun!
After attending the Advanced Photography session (more food porn!) and then a session on "The Meaning of Identity and The Value Of Voice In A Crowded Food Blogging World," we came back down for snacktime. You never get hungry at BlogHer!
The featured snacks included a da-licious mushroom soup and chocolatey chocolate!!
The mushroom soup was just mushrooms, broth and sherry (and maybe one or two more ingredients like salt?) whirred together. It was incredibly delicious for being cream free!
But of course I added back some cream in the form of bacon-infused whipped cream and a crispy porcini mushroom.
I was still full from lunch, but I had a few delicious bites.
They were also serving a vegan quinoa-stuffed portabella. I will see if they will be posting these recipes on the Mushroom Channel!
On the chocolate front, I tried this incredibly interesting concoction:
Scharffen Berger Chocolate (sounds like Michel Schlumberger right!?) created this mixture of a bunch of flavors – from chocolate to peanut butter to pretzels to chili powder and roasted corn to promote their Chocolate Adventure Contest. I think the point was just to dip your hand in and enjoy!?!?
Testing the water..
Found a golden nouget!
HOMPH GOMPH GOMPH!
Didn’t eat it all, but it sure was fun!
We skipped out on the closing keynote to rejuvenate before the evening cocktail party. Jenna had some Amazing Grass and told me it would really help pick me up – so I took her up on a challenge to chug some.
A little aperitif before dinner if you will
CHUG CHUG CHUG!
I am totally exhausted from lack of sleep so I will most likely be posting tonight’s recap along with my KERF meet-up when I get to the airport tomorrow. Unless I get a second wind tonight.
Off to party!
