Check out the purple crocus popping up!!
Looks like spring out there, but feels like mid-winter!
After I finished up work at home, I walked to the bakery. Took the long route as part of my workout. Pregtastic podcast in the ears!
Just in time for a late morning snack, I discovered this incredible fruit pizza! I had 3 slivers throughout the course of morning + midday – the base is whole wheat and the fruit is nutritious too! Only sketchy part is that scrumptious sugar glaze : )
Things have been steadily busy here, and I’ve been hunkered behind the computer screen working on our website update.
Lots O chocolate is cookin’ today!
Lunch break came late since I had the pizza to tide me over.
I combined the best of both worlds: our tofu sandwich with pimento cheese!! Funny that I don’t mind the veggies at all on our sandwiches. Maybe my palate is turning a corner?
But the chocolate bliss bite I had after lunch was still the highlight of my day!
Hope you have a LOVEly afternoon!

That fruit pizza looks delicious! I’ve never had a sweet pizza before, only the traditional savory. Those chocolate cookies look so soft and chewy now. I need something sweet. It is V-day after all
The crocus looks so pretty! We’ve had a mild winter in Ohio so far, but right now the ground is covered with snow and I’m afraid we’re a long way off from any spring flowers
I’ll have to live vicariously through your frequent walks!
Jealous of your Valentine’s Chocolate. Mine was just a dove heart so far
I’ve made fruit pizza before and it is amazing! I usually eat it for dessert
And that tofu sandwich – yum!! Happy Valentine’s Day btw!
Your baby has no choice but to love bread. Viva la carbs!
Is the fruit pizza from your bakery? It sounds so great. I have to say, I go to our local Great Harvest (in Reno) way more now that I see these yummy things on your blog.
Yes, but it was a staff treat. Although we should sell it!
Fruit pizza is one of those things that I’ve been meaning to make for a while but never got around to—looks incredible!
Fruit pizza…how fun! Is the glaze lemony? That’s how I imagine it to be. Wow! crocuses at this time of year…and so many! They will truly be a delight to the eyes when they bloom! Waiting for my chocolate hit later in the day!
That sandwich looks amazing! Wish we had a GH closer…..I want one of those!
Love the bakery photos
I started reading your blog about a month ago and I don’t think I’ve seen photos of it yet! It is adorable and I would prob buy everything if I lived there.
that fruit pizza looks delicious! Haha I’m totally craving it now!
Yuuuum I wish they had the sandwiches you guys make at the GH I go to in Pasadena, CA!! That tofu sandwich and the curried tuna always look soooo good!
I can only have one slice of a dessert pizza, but a I can eat a whole large savory pizza! Go figure
I love seeing signs of spring. It’s uber early, but I can’t/shouldn’t complain.
Have a great afternoon!
That sandwich looks amazing! I think I’d rather have that than a piece of chocolate right now, and that’s saying something!
mm I’ve yet to consume chocolate today but going to go change that now after taking a look at that cookie!
Fruit pizza, love that. We had tofu sandwiches today too, well kinda, they were wraps. Mediterranean style with hummus, cucumbers, olives, radishes, tomato, peppers, onions, and grilled tofu. They were totally loaded and outrageously delicious. I have yet to make a recipe for vegan pimento “cheese”, I have to work on that, it sounds too good not to try! Our dessert was not chocolate bliss, but, chocolate covered strawberries that I made with breakfast.
Dessert pizza is new to me but I could totally go for it!
that fruit pizza looks scrumptious!
walking is bye exercise of choice lately as well. love the breath of fresh air
The fruit pizza looks so good! I’ll have to find a recipe for that. Too good to pass up!
WOW! I am so jealous/in awe of your bakery — you guys are always trying new recipes and coming out with DELICIOUS looking creations! The Great Harvest we have in our area has great bread (of course), but it’s the size of a small closet and they don’t have very many options
why can’t all Great Harvest’s be like yours
The fruit pizza looks so good! I don’t know if I could own a bakery. I’d eat everything!
I love fruit pizza. My sister makes it with sugar cookie dough. Yours looks healthier!
Oh my goodness! Nate made that pizza for me last week and it turned out awesome! We put a little brown sugar goodness under the berries and, boy, oh, boy was it sweet! And yes, totally nutritious!
I think you should definitely sell fruit pizzas too! It looks delicious. I imagine the bakery must be very busy today with people stocking up on chocolatey baked goods. Have a great afternoon Kath!
That pizza looks heavenly! Now I’ll be craving it allllllll day!
Wow, it does look really Spring-y there!! And like everyone above commented, that fruit pizza looks so good!
That fruit pizza looks gorgeous. I started eating salads/veggies regularly again around week 12. Around week 14 they actually started tasting really good to me again. You’re probably getting over the hump!
Is it an optical illusion or is your mailbox only a foot off the ground?!! Maybe that’s how it’s done in VA?
It was a really low one!
I was thinking the same thing! That’s so odd!
mmm that fruit pizza looks great!
I’m wondering what kind of headphones you have? I’m finally looking for something better than my ipod headphones, but I can’t decide!
They are just cheap ones that came with my phone
Chocolate is a must on VDay! And fruit pizza is an added bonus!
The fruit pizza looks like it would sell well, people are often looking for a healthy treat and as you say the glaze is the only naughty bit
When I was pregnant it was the smell of cooking just about anything that made me feel sick, so hope the raw vegies work for you, hommus with carrot, cucumber, brocoli or cauliflower dippers (small and thin) would be worth a try.
Fruit pizza sounds amazing
Hi Kath, what is your favorite app for podcasts on the Android?
I don’t know – I could use a recommendation!
I just use the Music app, but I would love something that could download and bookmark
I didn’t even know these existed!!
Just downloaded free trial of this: http://lifehacker.com/5855861/the-best-podcast-manager-for-android
Those cookies look crazy good! I’m a sucker for a good chocolate cookie.
The choc bliss bite would be the highlight of my day, too. Although the fruit pizza looks great, too. I baked fruit-based donuts today and called them “healthy” because they have fruit in them. Rationalization is a beautiful thing for me. lol
I’m glad you’re enjoying the podcasts! And I’m jealous of your sun– we’ve had gray, gray skies for the past three days!
my dad would be all over those purple things with weed killer…but they’re so pretty! he’s all about the manicured lawn…
I would probably devour that pizza too!! Mmm
That pizza looks amazing…I would have eaten 2 slices, easily!
Crocuses??! I’m jealous.
I can’t wait for the appearance of your new blog. I love never homemaker’s already. Love the pregnancy blogs.
Ahh the bakery looks SO great! Would love to visit one day.. That pizza is looking incredible too
I love pastries with glaze on them. The perfect drizzle of sweetness. Your bakery is so nice!
Now that’s the kind of pizza I could go for right about now! I’ve never had fruit pizza before and I really feel like I’m missing out on something awesome. Your tofu sandwich looks delish too. What flavors is it marinated in? I always forget about putting slabs of it my sandwiches. Usually I mash it up and eat tofu salad-ish. Hope you and Baby BERF are having a nice Valentine’s Day!
It’s Twin Oaks tofu, which is so good it doesn’t need a marinade! It’s herby to begin with.
I recently discovered Twin Oaks tofu at a small health food store and love it. It’s the best tofu I ever had.
ooh, fruit pizza looks delicious!
happy valentine’s day!
The fruit pizza looks very festive with all the red
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Nothing better than fruit pizza
And yummm sugary glaze!
I bet that pizza is YUM, maybe I would trade out the glaze for some greek yogurt and cinnamon? Heaven. The bakery looks so nice! We have a slim chance of being stationed back on the east coast after Korea…and if we are~ I’m driving to cville to check it out!!
The pizza looks so pretty and I’ll bet it tastes good too!
Pimento cheese??? Comes up a lot! Not being from the south could you explain the roots and maybe a recipe? I have a feeling it’s something my husband would love!
Thanks!
It’s a cheese dip that is often made with mayo and pimentos. I like it with greek yogurt and just a touch of mayo. The recipe I use is Kelsey’s: http://bitesandbowls.com/2009/02/24/black-bean-burger-foreign-fries/
Have you and Matt decided if you are going to make pizzas at the bakery? You could make the dough and sell it if you don’t sell cooked ones

The fruit pizza looks delicious!! The bakery looks like a really neat spot too. We don’t have a ton of places like that here–just lots of cupcake places.
