I think we all fell a little in love with Charleston this weekend
Erica and I got up at 7 to go for a run together before we headed out. (Tina’s hip is still hurting
) We ran 5.25 miles in about 50 minutes all through her gorgeous planned neighborhood. I want to live there for the bike and running paths!! It was a good run – lots of talking so it went by fast!
Erica and Josh were wonderful hosts, leaving us some surprises on our beds! We slept so well in their cozy guest bed.
After showers and caffeine, we all headed out for breakfast at the beach!
We went to Sea Biscuit at Isle of Palms
Lots ‘O charm
And a long list of daily specials!
It was hard to decide, but I ordered the Blueberry Walnut French Toast
It was great! Very homemade tasting. I finished the whole plate (was famished from my run) and added a little maple syrup and enjoyed some of Tina’s fruit.
Matt got a tomato + bacon benedict (and shared a bite)
The fruit plates were gorg!
After breakfast we headed out to the sand to put our feet in the ocean
Wish we could have stayed longer to play!!
We drove TIna + Mal through Sullivan’s Island, historic Mt. Pleasant, and a swirl through downtown Charleston before getting back on I-26 to head back to Charlotte.
We had such a wonderful weekend with our “new” friends. Wish we could get together with both couples more often.
Off to the airport!
