Fun times at Great Harvest Cville this morning!!
It was one of those days where we were so busy there wasn’t time to sit and think. I love being that busy!
Old favorites and new! I had a few tastes of them throughout the morning – quality control!
Got to meet some fun blog readers too!! Amanda + Joe came in to pick up a picnic they are taking wine tasting…and Sara and Will brought me some new Flying Dog beers!
Friends:
October is going to be a great month thanks to the pumpkin craze. Everyone is nuts for it!
I had a delicious Pimento Cheese sandwich for lunch – on Cville Crunch!
And a taste of Savannah bar for dessert
Anne P and her Matt just arrived for a Cville getaway. Excited tour the town!

Holy yum at those pumpkin & choco chip teacakes! Just outta curiosity- do the baked goods with pumpkin have less oil/butter? The only reason I would assume so is because of the inclusion of pumpkin, which tends to be a fat substitute in baking.
Not really….I think it’s more there for flavor than anything else
All of those pumpkin breads are making me drooool right now! You guys will definitely have a busy busy month:D
Ha! They beat me to it! I was planning on bringing you Flying Dog beers next weekend, since that’s our local brewery. Did they bring you the Fear (pumpkin) or the Harvest Ale (it’s hoppy!)?
Ahhh you don’t have to!! But I think they brought both!?
That pumpkin swirl bread looks incredible. Love all of your specialties!
If I was closer to your bakery I would lived at your bakery. Everything looks so delicious! I would love to try the sandwich you had.
Whoah, the bakery is the place to be today! Bread party? Oh yes.
The Savannah bars always look so good and so does Pumpkin Oh! Yes, oh my.
Have fun with Anne and glad you got to meet a few readers and stay really busy. Wins all the way around
I wish I could come and visit your bakery. It looks so large and spacious and all of your baked products looks amazing. Today I would buy the pumpkin swirl
Congrats on the busy day! Your job is so cool.
It’s so fun meeting blog people, isn’t it?

GAH! I want that pumpkin chocolate chip teacake!!
And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those types of days!! I’m glad to hear business is booming
Hey Kath! I was able to stop by the shop earlier this month and have to say that I LOVED everything about Great Harvest! You weren’t there.. otherwise I *might* have introduced myself. It was just Matt and your super fun staff, so I got a little shy and thought it might be a little strange to introduce myself to Matt. I feel like I know him (like I know you – not really at all hah) through the blog, but didn’t muster the courage to say hey! Haha
Anyway – loved the recommendations from Matt.. I ordered the Monticello Garden (I think was the name) sandwich on.. shoot.. the bread with all the pumpkin seeds on top… anyway.. DELICIOUS! But NOW I want to come back and try that Pumpkin Chocolate Chip… YUM!
Aw I’m so sorry I missed you!! You should’ve said hi to Matt -he’d be flattered
Glad you had a great time!
OH MAH GOSH. That bread looks SOOO fabulous! We have a Great Harvest near by. And I’m heading there ASAP!! Mmmm!
I’m so happy that the business is going well! You guys have worked so hard! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Kath!
All of this pumpkin bread is such a tease!
You are actually glowing in the third picture–it must be a pumpkin glow from all the pumpkin you have been consuming

have so much fun!
very envious of all that delicious pumpkin!!
I think I must be the only person who doesn’t like pumpkin choc chip.
. I like pumpkin, and chos chipd, just not together. I was i. The Anchorage GH (newly renovated) on Wed and I think all of the other customers bought pumpkin choc chip, plus slices were going fast as well. I did get 3 loaves of bread though. Gotta stock up as it’s 50 miles from home.
Aww well it’s not for everyone
Have fun! Say hi to Anne for me (we went to college together
)
I am not sure what my closest GH is. I totally would love some savannah bars! They look heavenly.
I love, love, love pumpkin chocolate chip bread… one of my favorites!
i think i know what i’m doing w all my chocolate bars soon – pumpkin chocolate loafs!
Was Raging B*tch included in that variety? I was a wee bit offended when the boyfriend first offered me that beer. I knew it was the beer’s name but still….
I’m not sure…upstairs!
I love super busy days too! The day flies by and you end up feeling accomplished and kicking back and relaxing feels all that more awesome.
That picture of the pesto Parmesan bread just stole my heart.
That pesto parmesan bread has my name smothered all over it!
Your bakery items look divine, seriously. So very cool to see your dream of running this bakery materialize on your blog every week. Wish I could grab your sandwich right off the screen.
Way to spread the pumpkin obsession
A Tall Tale
Once upon a time about 2 years ago I was having a girls weekend in Seattle, WA. It was on this weekend that one of my girlfriends was raving about your blog! At that time I wasnt really into reading blogs but ever since than I have been reading yours and quite hooked to the phenomenon of blogs
There have been some days, weeks, etc..that have gone by where I have missed several posts but for the most part I have tuned in
I believe it was your blog where I discovered the amazement of banana cooked in my oatmeal and the strange excitment of eating oatmeal from a jar of nearly gone PB. It was from your blog that I discovered two other blogs I absolutley love as well! DailyGarnish, EatLiveRun, and your blog have graced their presence on my computer several mornings with breakfast and right before bed. I love your girl’s style and it was just in the last couple of weeks that I even started commenting on what I was reading HAHA
I had yet to comment on yours. So here’s to new beginnings of blog comments!
The End
P.S. This was the same girlfriend that introduced me to Great Harvest bread
Congratulations on your Great Harvest and new house adventures! And thank you for sharing via blog world
I have been inspired
Thanks for the story!!
I spy with my little Eye….. ME
LOVE the savannah bars!
Your photos of pumpkin bread and desserts makes me want to take a trip to your bakery today! So wish we had a Great Harvest in my city! I could go for a piece of that pumpkin chocolate chip bread right about now.
Pesto Parmesan? Pumpkin Swirl? Loving these new bread varieties, Kath!
I either need to have some Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Tea Cake shipped to Colorado or I need to figure out how to make it myself. Yummo!
Congrats on the success of your business. The pumpkin loafs look delicious!
My mouth is watering as I read and look at all of your pictures, I wish we had a Great Harvest w/n driving distance Portland Maine!!!
O.M.G. parmesan pesto bread? I die.
