Baker’s Bedtime!

July 16, 2009

Can’t stay and chat – I have a Baker’s Bedtime tonight of 8:45! Wake-up tomorrow is at 3:45, and that’s even pushing it to get to the airport. I’ve got everything all laid out and ready to go. We’ll just need to shower, dress and GO.

I packed some snacks to get me through my afternoon of meetings. I ate the plum around 4:30 along with some of the trail mix + crackers and the rest on my commute home.

Finishing up our $19 week of groceries turned out to be a pretty nice and super QUICK meal – leftover frittata, leftover steamed veggies, a slice of toast (got my whole grains in tonight!) and a 4-minute corn in the microwave.

No, that’s not an onion – it’s the but of some shaved parmesan cheese! This frittata was SO GOOD again – I blame the Tony’s Creole Seasoning tonight ;)

Everything is better with butter

This dinner was 110% satisfying.

Wishing you a safe flight and the most enjoyable time in Boston. If you get a chance, I hear Flour Bakery is definitely something to check out. Maybe Matt can compare??

Good night and sleep well!

have fun, i’m still trying to re-group from our vacation. I don’t know how you do it. it has taken me 2 days just to unpack and clean the house. I could use some of that yummy food to keep me going! Corn on the cob is one of my favs. be safe!

Couldn’t you both just shower when you get to Boston? Then you won’t be pushing it to get to the airport on time…

I love frittatas! So simple, yet tasty to make. Eggs are a great source of protein when you are on a budget. Have a fun trip!

Oh yummy, corn on the cob and bread with butter! Where do you get your bread, anyway? It always looks so good.

Ah, Tony’s Cajun Seasoning. Few dishes are not vastly improved by its addition.

Just enjoyed one of your great recipes. I had some turkey cutlets to use up and found the meal you made with stuffed turkey cutlets, acorns squash and broc. It was so delicious – yum! Thanks for all the great ideas.

You are probably already in or close to Boston at this point, wanted to say hope your quick morning went well. Can’t wait to see the fun you have planned for this weekend!

Ha, I like the “baker’s bedtime” term. That’s my bedtime on weekends when I have to be up at 4am. Surprisingly, it’s quite easy to fall asleep so early when I don’t have any caffeine throughout the day!

Safe travels! So you can just microwave corn on the cob for about 4 minutes in the microwave and that works– I am so excited to try that!

I think it’s cool that you’re trying again to keep your grocery bill so low, but I wish you would add in how much it would be if you had to pay for all the free bread and other stuff that you get.

Sprinkle corn on the cob with fresh lime juice and chili powder for a tasty zing :)

Have fun in Boston! I was born in Salem, MA (which sort of makes me a Witch ;-) ).

My family still lives in Boxford, MA, which is about 30 min. north of Boston….not too far from North Andover and Marblehead. :-)

And I love Mass.! Have a great time – it’s going to be beautiful weather!
