Goodbye trampoline. All 20 minutes of jumping were worth every bounce. I almost canceled our Craigslist buyers on their way over. What a great workout!! But alas, the trampoline is now gone.
I swear the jumping started before the beer consumption!
Andrew, Matt’s super cute younger brother, is here for the week! Welcome, Brain!
So of course we celebrated – with Karen – at Beer Run tonight
I started with a Bluegrass Brewing Bourbon Barrel Stout – an old faithful [half pint]
And ended with Brooklyn Chocolate Stout [also a 10 oz]
For dinner we all consumed copious amounts of salad topped with roasted butternut squash and walnuts
And split a giant platter of Beer Run Nachos – the best!!! [Except for the 5 raw onions I found inside..]
Have a great pre-holiday weekend!! I have a feeling our holiday has begun and will last more than a week : )

Ahhahhaha you’re hilarious. NACHOOOSSS
Ahhhh those nachos look so good! And I BEGGED my mother for a trampoline when I was younger… to no avail.
That salad looks fantastic! How was the Brooklyn Chocolate Stout? I’m not a big beer drinker, but the chocolate part caught my attention.
I try to make all holidays last as long as possible. Have fun!
I can’t believe how clear and accurate the trampoline pictures came out. LOL. Those are great.
i love trampoline pictures!
Me too!!
I would have kept the trampoline! Bouncing is fun
Those nachos are making my mouth water… food.porn. Don’tcha know that raw onions are oh so good for you?! They may taste strong, but those allium family members are potent elixirs
Congrats on parting with the trampoline. I used to love them when I was a kid but as an adult…the space that they would take up would not be worth it…then again, I dont even have a yard. I have a balcony
Beer run nachos look mighty good right about now!
Awww why did you sell the trampoline? Looks fun!!
Just something I thought we didn’t need (and a liability)
I thought you sold it for the beer drinking!!
My girls had a trampoline & a neighbor kid jumped on it while we were gone and cut his chin open. Stitches and $$$. Liability for sure unless you can keep the neighbors kids out.
Those nachos! So cheesy! Have fun with your company!
Oh my that plate of nachos looks INcredible!!
And I totally would’ve kept the trampoline. I remember we BEGGED my parents for it when we were younger. We finally got one for Christmas and I literally used it every single day. They’re SO fun!!
Love the trampoline pics, Kath!!
Trampolines used to scare me! I remember going over to friend’s houses and jumping on them and having this crazy fear I was going to fall off and crack my head open. My parents must have done a good job filling my head with fear…;)
Love the pic of Matt and Andrew laughing/talking.
Oh yes – Holidays are at least a few months long don’t ya know?
Who knew there were so many beer combinations to enjoy! I tend to be more of a wine drinker but I love a good beer! Here’s to the holidays!
Those nachos look delicious!!
Love using the half pint glass!!!
Your onion aversion always makes me laugh!
That salad sounds incredible! I love roasted veggies on salad!
I hope the new trampoline owners are having a blast!
We will have a blast on it starting tomorrow!! The kids don’t know about it yet…but they will! Thanks Kath and Matt!! Bread was fantastabulotastic!! We told evey one we talked to tonight!!
Glad you enjoyed the bread!!!
Fun! Tonight we got to try the La Citrueille Celeste de Citracado, which is a collaboration between Stone Brew Co and two others. Really good… dark and citrus and pumpkin, sounds weird but works. Also, I just bought the light kit that you’ve recommended. Thanks a bunch.
Would this light kit be in regards to photography in any way?? I am also looking for lighting..any suggestions? (If not about photography, than just shuush me and tell me to mund my own business…)
Hey Christie! This is the light kit I have for dinnertime photography at home: http://www.amazon.com/CowboyStudio-Studio-Umbrella-Continuous-Lighting/dp/B001NDYTKA
Sounds amazing Sheila!
Nachos are great!
I know that you probably answered this question for many other people — the answer is probably embedded on your site somewhere
— but I cannot find the answer on your site. What brand/kind of camera do you use?
http://faithfulsolutions.blogspot.com/
I was about to ask the same thing!! I love getting new ideas and your pics are gorgeous!!
I have a Canon Rebel XSI DSLR with a Canon 35mm f/2.0 lens!
Looks like an awesome weekend! (Minus the trampoline sale…I loved my best friend’s in high school and miss it all the time!)
Love the trampoline pictures! Cute!
Kath you wouldve been sick if you saw the pizza my friend ordered yesterday: full on onion topping! Even for someone who Ioves onions, it was too intense for me to even have a slice!
If the onions are fried, I would eat it, onions that are raw is yucky.
That salad looks amazing!
love the trampoline pictures, it must have been a health and safety hazard “trampolining” with the camera, but the photos came out great
Oh that is SO my type of salad!
I always wanted to try a trampoline, but being hugely clumsy I was certain I’d injure myself to the point that Humpty Dumpty could not be put back together again!
You can put bumper walls like they do with inflatable trampolines! I hope you know what I mean…
Love the roasted squash on the salad! Isn’t it so great to have family in town for the holidays!?!
You’re a pretty skilled photographer while jumping on that trampoline! I would fail and probably only manage to snap pictures of my foot…or a tree. HA! It’s a shame more restaurants don’t serve roasted butternut squash over salad, it’s the most delicious way to eat it!
Those nachos look absolutely fantastic!!! Good nachos are probably the thing I miss the most here in the Uk (okay – Mexican full stop!) – it may seem a total given to you but having access to good Mexican is defnitely something to feel thankful for this year
.
The trampoline looks like fun! That salad looks absolutely delicious! I love butternut squash. Sounds like a fun time
I know, jumping on the trampoline is a *super* workout!
I seriously could have lived on one as a child- we had one, I kind of did live on it!
I bet your brother-in-law, Brian (Brain) is a smart guy
Love your blog and it has inspired me to eat real food and lose weight gradually. I’m also enjoying your mom’s blog since that is timely for me too.Happy Thanksgiving week!
Oops, I see his real name is Andrew
We call Andrew “The Brain”
Glad you’re enjoyed the blogs!!
I LOVED our trampoline when I was a kid but sadly we had to get rid of it for insurance reasons… That’s when I learned that insurance company’s are fun-suckers
Yeah, they are the “death” of the party, not the life!
Andrew is so cute!!! Glad you had fun on the trampoline one last time!
Awww, I miss having a trampoline! Sadly, they’re definitely not the prettiest addition to a yard, haha!
you can definitely make it look pretty by putting lace all around…..
Andrew’s cute! Is he single?
How does he feel about Texas?
He’s actually not
Kath, how come all your beer are dark like molasses? The only beer I have seen are the color of “apple juice”, golden-ish
‘Cause I really like dark beers. I really don’t like yellow ones – except for some IPAs and some Belgian beers. You’ll never see me drinking a Bud Light, Coors, etc. unless it’s an emergency – or a frat party! They have so little flavor.
What does it taste like then? Is it an acquired taste? I never really liked the yellow beers either, so maybe I will like the dark ones?
Maybe a little acquired. See if you can find a beer tasting in your town and go try some out. I like them high alcohol, thick and malty. Barleywines are my favorite!
Thanks Kath, I’ll try that!
an emergency?! Kath – you crack me up
Love the trampoline pics! Very cool.
And Andrew – momentarily mistook for Matt. Definitely tell the resemblence.
Glad you had a great beer night.
Saw those pictures on your twitter–hysterical. They came out so clear, too! I’ve done that before and my photos came out super blurry haha
Extended holiday is exactly what has happened at our house…not exactly planned for either, which makes it even more fun! Enjoy
