Our adventure this morning was to attend a Vinyasa yoga class at Yoga One Studio! We received a free class coupon at Yoga Jam and have been wanting to go ever since. Much to my surprise and excitement, it was HOT YOGA!! The room was 94* and I loved it. I haven’t sweat that much …ever? I was totally drenched and pruned by the end.
Before:
After. Guess you can’t really tell how soaked we are, but trust us – we were!
The class itself was 90 minutes – but it flew by. It was a typical vinyasa flow class with some Sun B’s, Chatarangas and Planks at the beginning, a bunch of randoms like Tree, Eagle, Airplane, Standing Splits, etc. in the middle and some abs, Wheel, Camel, Happy Baby, Spinal Twists, Pigeons and of course Savasana at the end. I actually wish there had been a few more Chatarangas because that’s my favorite pose! I feel so strong holding it
We were both mushy and shaky at the end. And I think I ripped open some muscles on my upper back! Muscles that don’t normally get sore are sore, so that’s good.
The studio was very cool too – I’d call it “Modern Hippie.” Beaded curtains, but still very hip. We will definitely be back, esp. since we have Fridays off this summer and next fall.
After yoga I went (wet – next time I’ll be bringing a change of clothes!) to the chair store to get a few more samples. I haven’t made a fabric decision yet, which I think means the first two were not “the one.” Scroll down for the new poll!
I finally got home at 12:30 shaking and starving! I had a bar in my purse, but I knew I was close to lunchtime and wanted to wait for something hot. I took a speedy shower and put on dry clothes and whipped up this 3 Muskateers Lunch -
Leftover collards + beans from last night mixed with 1/4 a block of silken tofu and a little Newman’s Own peach salsa
Plus blue chips (double this portion because I snacked on them right out of the bag as I prepped lunch!)
And mango (1/2), clementine + blackberry. I was going to put these in yogurt, but I decided to hold off and have the yogurt if I needed it. Turns out I didn’t, but it might come back as a snack.
So here we go again…..
Rock The Vote!
I came home with these, although we eliminated most of them upon getting them home and on the chairs. Unfortunately the three that we REALLY like are only in rolls so I just have a tiny swatch of them. Please don’t be biased because they aren’t able to be put on the chairs.
Thanks guys!!
Friday dance!!

I’m so happy you went back for more because these are so much prettier! good luck and have fun picking!
I really am digging the blue/green print! I’m glad you had a soaking good time at yoga
Oooo! I really like the one on the bottom left – very nice!!
Bottom Left Corner!! I Love it! Sooooo modern yet timeless.
And YAY for gettin’ your sweat on! Have a great weekend!!!!!
I can not wait to decorate my own home. Green and white patterns are my favorite!
I like the swirly leafy pattern the best!
I voted and my choice is winning!!! (I am that lame that I am excited about choosing a complete stranger’s upholstery from thousands of miles away?!….Yes, I’m that lame.)
Yay for the Friday Dance! I’ve been doing that dance all day
Sorry can’t help with the fabric, I hardly know what looks good on my body let alone a chair! Good luck!
Kath,
So glad you finally got to try some hot yoga. There is nothing like a Vinyasa class in a heated studio. Wow, what a workout, huh? I love Chaturanga too! Used to not like them, but now I get disappointed when I go to a class and we don’t do them.
Your chocolate frosted blended oat bran looked delicious this morning. My idea of a perfect breakfast.
Woo-hoo, my vote is winning.
I really want to try hot yoga!! I bet it feels sooo invigorating and is a great stress release! I need to find a studio!
The place does like very hip!
I voted for the fabric! Tough choice- they all look great!
Good quick lunch!
Let’s do hot yoga when you are here!
The thought of hot yoga is so not my cup of tea… but to each his own.
Bottom right (lattice) or that floraly one in the middle of the pic on the top right. Unless the print is too big but I don’t think so. I really like that one. Not a fan of the circles at all. And I really don’t like the blue and the green for the style of the chairs. Looks like bad curtains to me. That’s just my taste though, I’m pretty conservative. Have fun picking!!
I would have been so hot in that yoga class!! Don’t know how you do it I think I overheat when I exercise anyway. I’m always running in 30 degree temps and hot in a tshirt. haha.
I’m so glad you went back too. . . the lattice is perfect. . . oh, and it’s winning!!
SO glad you got to a yoga class in a studio!! Makes such a difference – I feel like it always flies by! Being at home and doing yoga, I always think of what else I should be doing – SO not the point of yoga!!
your hot yoga session sounds amazing!
I just went to my second hot yoga class last night and LOVED it. When I went to the locker room of my gym to shower – someone asked me if it had started raining outside. My hair was drenched! I actually posted about my hot yoga experience this morning!

Make sure to hydrate
nice work at yoga — DELISH looking lunch!
Hot yoga sounds awesome, the studio looks like it has an awesome ambience.
Hi Kath, I know you used to use calorieking and I was wondering how accurate you consider their daily calories needed calculator to be? and the total is before exercise right?
YAY! SO glad you had such a fun yoga adventure!! I’m glad to hear it. =)
Yoga sounds great! I am starting a month at a yoga studio on Monday so I plan to try hot yoga too!
New to the blogging world and loving it so far! I know this has nothing to do with hot yoga or fabric swatches, but I know you love these little guys and thought you might want to try making a batch! I am going to try and tackle them this weekend

have a good weekend kath. you always seem to lift my spirits when i read your blogs.
I really like the blue and green one. Is it just me or does the one next to that match the new place mats?
I think you have really good taste and won’t go wrong with any of them. Great food photography!! and your workout tank is soo cute!
I was totally thinking that the placemat was a fabric swatch too! I don’t have a very good eye for home design though- I like all the samples.
So jealous that you got to go to hot yoga.
I’m going to hot yoga for the first time tonight. Glad to see you enjoyed it!
Did I miss top right in the poll? They all looked different. Sigh.
Glad you enjoyed yoga!
Oh Kath I heart HOT YOGA!!!! I love all thr fabrics makes me want to get busy with our furniture!
Yoga sounded fab! I’m not sure I could tolerate all the sweating. Well, maybe. Who knows. I’d just be tempted to wipe my face all the time.
Cute 3 muskateers lunch!
I have never taken hot yoga- but I’d love to try!
Lunch looks delicious….And I vote for the floral!
Great idea with the poll!
I love the large circles on this chair – its a really cool mix of modern and classic.
I love the floraly one! I’d actually love that as a duvet for my bed
I really want to try hot yoga!
I just voted for the large circles but the lattice was a close second and it appears as though the majority likes that one, so I say both are winners
Either way, I love that green color!
I LOOOOVE hot yoga
(Moksha yoga studios are my fave)
It is SO addictive-sometimes do 30 day challenges of it-wow do I feel amazing after those!!!
Oohhhh….some more lovely fabric. The new ones are really nice. This is gonna hard to select. But if I have to vote for one, it will have to be the little circles.
No matter what, all these prints are very nice.
That yoga class sounds intense!! I like a lot of them but I still voted for my favorite!
a hot yoga place just opened by us and Im drying to try it! I’m a little nervous though!
I’m so curious about hot yoga, glad you guys had fun!
I need to find a hot yoga studio! It sounds like so much fun =)
That hot yoga seems like it would really drain you! I think I would just want to lie down and take a nap:) Glad you had fun!
ashley ,
It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at CK’s calculators, and I think they changed them sometime last year, so I can’t really say. But CK is pretty conservative with calories, so I think you can trust it. Weight it in against http://www.caloriesperhour.com, which I think is the best out there crossed with a Bod Pod test and my HRM.
PAM ,
Aw thanks
Kath
I agree. The ones from yesterday were fine, but not rockin. I adore the fern/floral one from today’s list. To me, it was a standout.
I have that wee blue bowl with the handles. Perfect for fruit or afternoon yogurt.
(((Annie’s Max n chz)))
Oh, also, I adore pigeon pose. It’s my fav. And tree pose always makes me feel tall and strong.
What’s eagle pose?
The smaller lattice patterns look like your placemats, which maybe is why you were drawn to them? I find I’m drawn to patterns/colors I already have. That’s why I like the big floral for your chairs – because it coordinates but is different.
That sounds like such a great class – definitely a workout! It’s always fun to mix it up and take an actual class.
Wow, I love all the patterns! You have some great tastes! I voted for the Lattice.
Hot yoga – I’m so jealous! I’ve always wanted to go to a class, but I currently do it with my school and they don’t have hot yoga. I should try to find a studio!
